Letter from our CEO 19.3.20

1st March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers/Families,

The Education Minister Gavin Williamson has announced that all schools and early years settings in England will close at the end of the day on Friday 20th March until further notice.

This is in response to up-dated medical advice which now suggests that school closure may slow the spread of Coronavirus.

We foresaw this coming and myself and your head teachers have already been planning for this happening. We will meet again tomorrow morning before we tell you important information about how the closure will happen.

Schools will remain open for certain pupils as outlined in the statement those categorised as Key Workers such as NHS, Police etc. and vulnerable children those with Education and Health Care Plans and those receiving Social Care support. Your headteacher will work with the advice from government to identify and communicate which pupils this will be.

Please do not contact the school with enquires about school closure before you receive a letter from your headteacher tomorrow  - this will help us have time to put our plans in place and help office staff to get on with their important jobs without interruption. We thank you for your patience.

Regards

Colin Lofthouse
