Early Years & Key Stage 1 Nurture ARC

The ARC is an:

Additionally Resourced Centre

Our Nurture ARC is a specialised provision for up to six children who have additional educational needs around SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). It is provided by the Local Authority and is accessible for children from across the Newcastle Authority through an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan). The small group setting of the Nurture ARC is part of the mainstream school, this is to promote inclusivity and opportunities for reintegration into mainstream education.

The aim of the ARC is provide a safe and happy environment where children are able to build positive relationships with staff and children, develop confidence in themselves and enjoy learning, seeing themselves as successful learners.

At the end of the two year placement, we work with parents and other professionals to find an educational provision within the Local Authority that best meets their child's individual needs. After thorough assessments in our ARC, some children will successfully reintegrate back into a mainstream setting whilst others will be placed in a specialist setting or an alternative ARC that best meets their needs .
