Our school motto is ‘Learn Together – aim high and succeed’, and I am very proud to be the Head teacher of such a caring and nurturing school where everyone supports each other to do their very best.
Our aim is to ensure that every child reaches their full potential. To achieve this, we work closely with all of our families, our community partners, our Trust members and business partners.. We have the highest expectations of behaviour and work really hard to ensure our school is a safe, happy and effective environment where everyone enjoys learning.
At North Fawdon Primary School, we have a set of core values which we promote and celebrate. They include: perseverance, commitment, responsibility, respect, resilience, honesty and kindness. We believe that these values are what we all need to live a happy, safe and successful life. Our parents and children tell us they are safe and happy at school and enjoy their learning. We are all very proud of our school and enjoy talking about our progress.
We are proud to offer a huge range of before, during and after school enrichment opportunities, along with a challenging and engaging curriculum, which ensures that we discover and nurture each child’s talents, whether they are sporty, creative, practical or academic. We also offer opportunities for some children to gain qualifications in joinery, brick work, tiling, wood work and environmental studies as a way into the wider world of work and for those children whose talents lie in practical skills.
We love healthy competition at North Fawdon Primary School and we enjoy competing in a wide range of sporting events. We really do believe that a healthy active lifestyle facilitates optimum learning. As a member of the Newcastle North West Learning Trust we regularly compete in tournaments with our other Trust schools. All eight primary schools within our Trust work effectively together and with our business partners to enhance further the opportunities and outcomes for all of our young children.
North Fawdon Primary School is one of four primary schools in Newcastle with an Additional Resource Centre for pupils identified with BESD (Behaviour Emotional and Social Difficulties). Our ARC is a very special part of our school and all ARC children integrate with our mainstream children according to their personal needs and capabilities.
Enjoy browsing through our galleries and through the children's blogs and hopefully like I do each time I visit a classroom, you may learn something new!
So let us learn together, aim high and we will succeed!
